Dharamshala is a small hill station, which is known mostly for its natural beauty and Tibetan culture. But with the building of its own cricket stadium, cricket crazy fans can enjoy the matches from what people have called the world’s most scenic cricket stadium.
The recently built stadium looks like an enormous monastery from a distance. It is cloaked by thick green trees and overlooks snowy mountains. The inaugural match was attended by His Holiness himself.
Where to stay
There are three absolutely unforgettable homestays not far from the stadium. Both Royal homestay with sumptuous food or Lavish homestay with swimming pool are lavish homestays roughly 45 mins from the main city. While Royal homestay with sumptuous food is extra special as it is owned by the region’s royalty, Lavish homestay with swimming pool is styled like a chic urban resort complete with a cafe, lounge and swimming pool. In Darang, near Palampur you will find the 150 year old 70 acre tea estate with cosy cottages. The homestay has 3 charming cottages and a perfectly complementing history.
